How to Upload a CV using OCR in MyCareers Portal
Overview:
The OCR Upload feature lets you upload your CV and automatically extracts your details like name, contact, education, and experience to fill your profile.
Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Go to the OCR Upload Page
In the left sidebar, click on Documents.
Then select OCR Upload.
Or directly visit: https://mycareers.lk/ocr/ocrsystem.php
2. Upload Your CV File
You will see a blue screen with a box labeled "Browse File to Upload".
You can:
Drag and drop your CV PDF file into the box
Or click the box to open your file browser and select your file manually
3. Wait for the File to Upload
You’ll see a progress bar (e.g., "Uploading 34%...")
Once it reaches 100%, it will say "Uploaded" and show the file name and size(e.g. CV CandidateName.pdf)
4. Click the "Submit" Button
After upload completes, click the Submit button below the file box
The system will start processing the CV and extracting your information
5. Review the Auto-Filled Form
You’ll be redirected to a profile form with pre-filled information like: Name, Email, Contact number, Address, Education, Work experience
Carefully check each field to make sure it’s correct
6. Select Your Gender
Make sure to choose either Male or Female before proceeding
7. Submit Final Profile
After reviewing and confirming all details:
Click the Upload button at the bottom
You’ll see a confirmation popup like: ✅ "Data successfully saved"
After uploading the CV, you can find it under “My Documents” in the Documents section.
Tip:
If anything looks incorrect after upload, you can still manually fix it before final submission.
Notes for Non-Technical Users:
Make sure your CV is in PDF format.
Only one CV file can be uploaded at a time.
You don’t need to type everything manually — the system will fill it for you!
