The https://huggingface.co/braindao/DeepSeek-R1-Distill-Llama-8B-Uncensored link is dead. Did these guys delete their repo or was it deleted by the administration? I'm curious why

As a creator of dozens of uncensored, unbiased and reasoner finetuned DeepSeek R1 distil model I can say with almost certainty that the author and not HuggingFace took down the model. mradermacher never had any of his currently 26367 repositories getting taken down by HuggingFace unless for DMCA reasons in which case they don't take down the repository but instead restrict access as can be seen under https://huggingface.co/mradermacher/ash-llama-1.11.2-GGUF. In fact the only repository ever taken down by HuggingFace for reasons other than spam or copyright complaints is gpt4chan which happened half a year before ChatGPT after the model caused worldwide controversy and as you can see even then you don't get an error 404 but instead still see the note "Access to this model has been disabled" as can be seen under https://huggingface.co/ykilcher/gpt-4chan

These are pretty popular quants of DeepSeek-R1-Distill-Llama-8B. More than 16K downloads currently. I was going to download it, but now have doubts whether it's worth the time given my slow internet connection.

@nbicoboss gpt4chan is taken down (or not) pretty much the same way as the dmca-blocked ones, i would say.

@hacker-fx I usually avoid very generic repo names, but typically quant those on first-come-first-served basis, so the first guy with a model named "7B" wins the price).

And yes, authors often take down models that turn out to be broken.
