Okay, first of all, who in their right mind would give this place a bad review?! I get that opinions are like a--holes: everyone has one, and they all stink. But if you bash Corner Bistro, you might as well turn in your New York card. This place is a West Village institution. It's not The Ainsworth — it's an old-time bar with a great burger: straightforward, inexpensive, and perfect. Thank goodness for spots like this, as New York City increasingly turns into a sea of Duane Reades, Starbucks, and Subways. Order a cheeseburger, fries, and a mug of beer, and just enjoy the banter. If you're looking for a gourmet meal or a TGI Fridays, you're in the wrong place. This is a classic. A fantastic spot that never disappoints!

- The halal cart on Broadway is one of the best deals in Astoria. While their chicken rice plates can be a bit inconsistent at times (especially when it's slow), it's usually the most amazing six-dollar meal you can find. Their falafel is always fantastic, and I love the little side salad with the pickled turnips. Always, always go for the white and red (hot) sauce they go together like peas and carrots! For a change of pace, I recommend trying the combo plate (kefta and chicken), which is a great deal. And if you're in a carnivorous mood, their beef kebabs are mouth-wateringly tender and an incredible addition to your plate for just N bucks. As good as it gets for lunch (or a quick dinner) in Astoria you'll catch me there at least once, if not twice, a week!

+ a friend heard this local place is now open for sunday brunch so we checked it out ! great idea ! they offer a totally different sunday brunch menu ! fresh , friendly and really nice time - great place to come back for lunch or dinner . we each had the steak eggs with yuca fries - delicious and the coffee is great , too ! today ' s special sangria was a berry sangria and it was a great way to end the meal ! one block off atlantic on grand and just a few blocks from barclays center - so consider it on the weekend when everything else around atlantic terminal is crowded and noisy . this place is definitely worth a visit !
